Domestic violence has an significant impact on society especially children, who carry the an unnecessary burden throughout their life.
Domestic violence in childhood is directly correlated with difficulties in learning, lower IQ scores, deficiencies in visual-motor skills and problems with attention and memory. It holds true that every school will have children that have been exposed to or live with an abusive situation. Wellbeing and healthy relationships are the key fundamentals of learning children’s education as well as having long-term developmental consequences.
There is a necessity in our communities to address these issues in our society, to change the culture of abuse and bring awareness and education to children and young adults. Blossom in NY is spearheading age appropriate county and statewide campaign to educate young adults.
